Week 6

Notes from week 5

1. The Vikings are the best team in the league right now. Not even the record, just the way they play.
2. Tom Brady is back. Patriots won't lose the rest of the season. Okay, maybe twice.
3. Maybe it's time we look at the Falcons as a viable option in the South. Panthers, Saints, Bucs are all bad.
4. Has anyone had a more gut wrenching season like the Chargers?
5. Browns and down rhyme.
6. I honestly didn't believe the Cowboys could beat the Bengals. Looks like they are proving a lot of people wrong.
7. Lions managed to top the Eagles. didn't see that coming.
8. The Steelers outplayed a poorly coached Jets team.
9. Packers, welcome back to the win column.
10. Without Cam Newton, the Panthers looked terrible last week.

Last Week 9-5

Bye Week Teams: Vikings, Buccaneers

Thursday October 13th

(CBS) Broncos (4-1) at Chargers (1-4) - I am unable to properly convey how the Chargers season is going. A few close calls where they should have won, but yet they are 1-4.  So it looks something like this in my head.
I expect that to continue this week. I mean, they aren't a great team. The Broncos should rebound and dispatch the Chargers. Broncos 31, Chargers 13

Sunday October 16th

(FOX) 49ers (1-4) at Bills (3-2) - Kaepernick gets the start. Will it be the same lackluster offense we've seen from them? Going against a rather hot Bills team that started out 0-2 and has managed to win the last three, we should see a completely refocused team with Kaepernick at the helm. I don't think they will win, but I do expect them to put some points on the board this week against an "Okay" Bills defense. Bills 27, 49ers 24

(FOX) Eagles (3-1) at Redskins (3-2) - The Redskins and Eagles, division rivals, always seem to have bad blood. Jackson is always out to prove that the Eagles letting him go, was their biggest mistake. If he's on your fantasy team, probably should start him. Eagles, look good. Sure they lost last week, but they are still one of the best teams in the league right now. Should be a tight game. Redskins 24, Eagles 21

(CBS) Browns (0-5) at Titans (2-3) - This is probably the best chance for the Browns to get a win, and they won't. Titans 34, Browns 20

(CBS) Ravens (3-2) at Giants (2-3) - Talk about teams going in the opposite direction, the Giants started out hot, and have dropped 3 in a row. They are not nearly as good as the massive amount of money spent on defense would have you believe. The Ravens, well, no one thought they would be good. I'm surprised they have three wins. Ravens 20, Giants 14

(FOX) Panthers (1-4) at Saints (1-3) - Look, the Panthers suck, and so do the Saints, but the games in New Orleans between the two are always good. Should be a high scoring fest! Panthers 38, Saints 34

(CBS) Jaguars (1-3) at Bears (1-4) - The Bears, still bad. Not a good team. The Jaguars, well they aren't great, but they are young and should improve on the win in London and the Bye week.  I think the Jaguars come out and pounce on the Bears. Jaguars 27, Bears 13

(FOX) Rams (3-2) at Lions (2-3) - The Lions had a good win last week, unexpected over a good Eagles team. The Rams, lost to a surging Bills team. This week, with a combination of defense, and sputtering offense, the Rams should hold off the pesky Lions. Rams 20, Lions 17

(CBS) Steelers (4-1) at Dolphins (1-4) - In the nice Florida sun, the Steelers should put on an offensive display against the Dolphins lackluster defense. Steelers 31, Dolphins 10

(CBS) Bengals (2-3) at Patriots (4-1) - Tom Brady didn't disappoint last week, and he won't this week. Patriots 35, Bengals 7

(CBS) Chiefs (2-2) at Raiders (4-1) - This is a good matchup, not just because of the AFC West lineage, but because we finally get to see if the Raiders are ready to challenge for the division. If they can get past the Chiefs, they are positioned to challenge the defending division Champs Broncos. But these are games they have to win, but I think this week, they don't.  Chiefs 24, Raiders 20

(FOX) Falcons (4-1) at Seahawks (3-1) - Another intriguing matchup because now we get to see if the Falcons can take on an elite team and beat them. I think it will be a good game. Old Seahawks coach in town. I think they squeak by...Falcons 24, Seahawks 21

(FOX) Cowboys (4-1) at Packers (3-1) - The last time the Cowboys were in Lambeau, they had a chance to win a playoff game, but faltered. Different team, different QB. The Packers defense, not great. It has a lot of holes. Then again, the Cowboys offense has rookies leading a formidable attack. Will they leave Lambeau with a win? I think it will be close. Packers 31, Cowboys 28

(NBC) Colts (2-3) at Texans (3-2) - Essentially this is a division match with lots on the line. The Lowly Colts could regain control, or the Texans could seize the division outright. Both teams have more questions than answers, but a primetime game, at home, I'll take the Texans. Texans 27, Colts 20

Monday October 17th

(ESPN) Jets (1-4) at Cardinals (2-3) - The Cardinals at home, with Carson Palmer back, against a Jets team that I thought would be a lot better, but really isn't. The Cardinals should get back to .500. Cardinals 34, Jets 20

Happy Week 6!!!
