NFL Week 12 - Thanksgiving!

Week 12 is here, and it's Thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving!

Thoughts from Week 11

1. The biggest surprising loss from last week to me, was the Chiefs losing to the lowly Bucs.
2. The Raiders, two years ago 0-10 at this point in the season. This season 8-2. My what a turnaround they've had.
3. Keep being you, Browns.
4. The Lions lead their division by a game over the Vikings and two games over the Packers. Didn't see that coming.
5. Cardinals, are roasted. They are just bad. Three game lead for Seattle in the division. The Two wildcard teams have 2 game leads. Not insurmountable, but with the way they are playing, they will be home in 5 weeks.
6. Titans had a golden opportunity to make themselves relevant this season, squandered it.
7. Texans, too. They could've put that division away, but nope. Maybe Osweiler isn't the long term answer. Sure, barely a season. But he makes some stupid decisions.
8. Patriots still own that division.
9. Dolphins are impressive. They have come from behind four times in their streak right now.
10. I am impressed by the Cowboys, not impressed enough to believe they will win in the playoffs, but they have built a strong foundation for the future.

Coaches with their ass to the fire (no change from last week).

1. Jeff Fisher
2. Mike McCoy
3. Gus Bradley
4. Hue Jackson- Survive an 0-16 season. I doubt it.
5. Mike McCarthy

Last Week 9-5

Top 5 Teams

1. Seattle
2. Dallas
3. New England
4. Oakland
5. New York Giants

Bottom 5 Teams

32. Browns
31. 49ers
30. Jaguars
29. Bears
28. Panthers

Thursday November 24th

TRIPLE HEADER ON THANKSGIVING!

(CBS) Vikings (6-4) at Lions (6-4) - The Vikings got a much needed win last week against a lowly Cardinals team, a game they had to win. Now they get a Lions team who plays like they just don't care. I like this tradition of Lions playing on Thanksgiving. They play hard, and Stafford has a primetime game to show his skills. The Vikings better score early, or else Stafford will own them. Vikings 24, Lions 20

(FOX) Washington (6-3-1)  at Cowboys (9-1) - I hate Washington. I am surprised by the play of the Cowboys. Week to week, they find a way to win. The Rookies, are going to carry this team for many years to come. They should squeak out a win agains their division rivals. Cowboys 27, Washington 24

(NBC) Steelers (5-5) at Colts (5-5) - I didn't think the Steelers would be this mediocre at this point through the season. I expected them to be at least 8-2. The Colts, well with that defense, is about right. They get a Steelers team that is ready to showcase the full talent now that most are healthy. Should be a high scoring affair. Steelers 34, Colts 24

Sunday November 27th

(CBS) Titans (5-6) at Bears (2-8) - The Bears are so bad. They will be in the market for a QB this offseason/draft. The Titans, well they are not as bad as their record indicates. They should drop some points on this Bears team that has already started hibernating. Titans 38, Bears 10

(CBS) Jaguars (2-8) at Bills (5-5) - Both teams are about where they should be. The Jaguars, for all the offseason hype of the upgrades, is woefully bad. The Bills, well they too are subpar. They won't make the playoffs, not playing the up and down style they play. They should knock off the Jaguars. Bills 31, Jaguars 13

(CBS)  Bengals (3-6-1) at Ravens (5-5) - The Bengals, where to start. Bad. Terrible. No chance of playoffs. Ravens, outside chance. This is a must win game for them. Ravens 24, Bengals 16

(FOX) Cardinals (4-5-1) at Falcons (6-4) - After losing to the Vikings, the Cardinals are pretty much eliminated from the playoffs. Can't catch Seattle (unless they lose out and the Cardinals win out) maybe a wildcard (same scenario, teams have to lose). Falcons, well division leader, but not by much. Like a tide, they fluctuate. They need to win this game, or risk losing the division to the...gasp...Bucs. Falcons 24, Cardinals 20

(FOX) Giants (7-3) at Browns (0-11) - Giants, don't fail me. Giants 34, Browns 7

(FOX) Rams (4-6) at Saints (4-6) - A good defense vs an aging but efficient offense. The Rams have a good chance to come in and beat the Saints, and get Goff his first win as an NFL QB. Will it happen? No. The Rams have squandered so many opportunities this season. They need to play better, but at this point, they are just playing for pride. Should be a good game. Saints 27, Rams 20

(FOX) 49ers (1-9) at Dolphins (6-4)  - The Dolphins are one of the hottest teams in the league. The 49ers, the opposite. The Dolphins will score early, and often. Pile it on that human stack of Mashed Potatoes Chip Kelly. Dolphins 38, 49ers 17

(CBS) Chargers (4-6) at Texans (6-4) - The Chargers are still one of those teams that can have a burst of scoring and make a team feel stupid in the process. Will the Texans fall victim? No. They put the clamps on the Raiders, but the Raiders are one of those teams that are finding a way to win this season. Texans should lock it down. Texans 24, Chargers 17

(FOX) Seahawks (7-2-1) at Bucs (5-5) - I won't pick against the Seahawks, but a cross country trip, we know how they usually fare. Not too well. I don't see the lowly Bucs winning. Competitive game? Yes. Win, no. Seahawks 27, Bucs 20

(CBS) Panthers (4-6) at Raiders (8-2)- The Raiders are like the Panthers a year ago. A team that no one thought would be great, and here they are. Will the Raiders make the Super Bowl, no. But they can beat a Super Bowl team and show the rest of the league that they are for really real, and they will. Raiders 28, Panthers 17

(CBS) Patriots (8-2) at Jets (3-7) - If the Patriots don't blow out the Jets, I really won't understand life. The Jets are bad. Patriots 41, Jets 13

(NBC) Chiefs (7-3) at Broncos (7-3) - A great sunday night game. The Chiefs and Broncos both 7-3, and fighting for Wild Card spots can get a bit closer to possibly winning the division by winning this game. It's a three way dog fight with three teams with 7 wins in the division. I don't think the Chiefs lose two in a row, but the Broncos won't go away quietly. Chiefs 20, Broncos 19

Monday November 28th

(ESPN) Packers (4-6) at Eagles (5-5) - The Eagles, unless they go on a hell of a run, are going to miss the playoffs. Like the AFC West, the NFC East has three teams with 7 wins or better. The Packers, well they still have an outside shot in their division. But not with that defense. Rodgers will play well. Will score some touchdowns, but their defense is horrible and that will cost them the game. Eagles 34, Packers 31

Happy Thanksgiving!
