NFL Week 7

Another week at 9-5. Not bad. it's above .500, but there are some teams that should've won (ahem) Giants, Ravens, and most importantly FALCONS. How dare you lose. You sonsabitches. It's okay, everyone will finish with at least one loss this season.

Thoughts from Week 6:

1. Might the Falcons have been exposed. The Saints, who are not good by the way, exposed your team. Badly.
2.  Seahawks. Sup. Like. Sup with you? You guys okay?
3. I am excited to see a potential Bengals, Patriots matchup at some point.
4. Lions, you broke my heart. How dare you win. But you beat the Bears, so it's all good.
5. Bills, you are 8-8 at best.
6. Browns, impressive even in defeat. You guys, I feel bad for you guys.
7. Patriots/Jets probably best game of the week.
8. Dez Bryant, don't rush back man. I know you have that fire burning inside of you. but like, take it easy. I fucking love you, man.88 for life.

9. DeMarco Murray weekly jab. You should've stayed behind Dallas' massive line.
10. Sorry it took so long, but Panthers, you are impressive.
11. Wasn't the 49 I thought, but the Patriots won a great game.
12. The Colts, the fuck you thinking with that "trick" play.

Top 5: Lombardi Division

1. Patriots
2. Packers
3. Bengals
4. Panthers
5. Falcons

Bottom 5: Participation Ribbon Division

32. Lions - Won, but hanging down here.
31. Jaguars
30. Texans
29. Titans
28. Chiefs

Honorable mention: Seahawks for losing two games they should have won in a row in the fourth quarter.

Coaches on the hot seat:

1. Bill O'Brien
2. Mike Pettine - Sure they played great in defeat, but they are still losing and probably won't make the playoffs.
3. Jim Caldwell

Ingersoll Pick of the Week: Team Guaranteed to get that W

Arizona Cardinals - Should be a bird fight, but the Ravens aren't exactly "good" and lost to the lowly 49ers last week. Cardinals lost to the Steelers, but they are going to come out flapping.

BYE WEEK Bears, Bengals, Packers, Broncos

Thursday October 22nd 8:30PM EST

(CBS/NFL) Seahawks (2-4) at 49ers (2-4) - For the first time in a long time, I'm afraid to pick the Seahawks. They come into San Francisco with a 0-3 road record. I can't remember the last time they were bad on the road. Funny thing is, the Super Bowl team that nearly won it all, is back intact. Is it that they have been playing over their talent and it's catching up to them, or are they as a collective still in a hangover. 49ers are bad, and this is one of those division games where the teams are going to battle hard. Seahawks come out on top though, because they are better on both sides of the ball than the 49ers. Seahawks 31, 49ers 20

Sunday October 25th 9:30AM EST

Wembley Stadium - Only streaming on Yahoo By the Way

(YAHOO) Bills (3-3) at Jaguars (1-5) - I felt the Bills defense could have been special this season. Defensively. Then Tyrod Taylor played lights out most of the season, and I felt they could have been a really good team. Meh. average. They are not good and keep playing down or up to their competition. Jaguars are right where they normally at. Vying for that number one draft pick. Congrats to London for getting the Jaguars for one game each season? Either way, I think the Jaguars will lose, but not before putting up some points. Blake Bortles, he's worth an outside fantasy pickup. Kid isn't have bad. Bills 27, Jaguars 24

1PM EST

(FOX) Buccaneers (2-3) at Redskins (2-4)  - Redskins could have a good game this week. Jameis Winston seems like he's on one of those weeks where he could throw three or four picks. Redskins play that opportunistic defense. Look for them to attack the Rookie. Redskins 27, Bucs 13

(FOX) Falcons (5-1) at Titans (1-4) - I fully expect the Falcons to get back on track after their loss last week. They need to score early and set the tempo. Mariotta is one of those QB's that if he can get in a rhythm they could put the Falcons in a deep hole. Be honest, the Falcons don't have a great secondary. So they need to stop him on third down or it could be a long day. Falcons 21, Titans 10

(FOX) Saints (2-4) at Colts (3-3) - Colts need to play better. They will win that sorry AFC south and get into the playoffs and lose. They should open that offense up against the Saints though. Colts 34, Saints 17

(FOX) Vikings (3-2) at Lions (1-5) - The Lions are one of those teams that could easily be 3-2 or even 4-1, but because bad calls and a few bad breaks they are 1-5. Won't make the playoffs, but they can certainly improve to say 8-8 on the season. Dug too big of a hole. the Vikings are spotty. They play good in spurts. AP is still a force, but they don't have the QB to elevate them to contender. Lions squeak by.  Lions 24, Vikings 21

(CBS) Steelers (4-2) at Chiefs (1-5) - I am pretty sure the Chiefs want to hit that reset button on the season. this beating they are about to get will make them remember that. Steelers 31, Chiefs 10

(CBS) Browns (2-4) at Rams (2-3) - I mean, how impressive were the Browns last week, in defeat might i add. I was thoroughly impressed. The Rams have not been impressive. I think the Browns can have a productive week on the field. Browns 27, Rams 20

(CBS) Texans (2-4) at Dolphins (2-3) - Dolphins suck at home. But the Texans just suck overall. I think the Dolphins suck less than the Texans really. Dolphins 24, Texans 17

(CBS) Jets (4-1) at Patriots (5-0) - You know, I'm going to go out on a limb. I don't think there will be an undefeated team this season. The Patriots are still my Super Bowl pick, but I think they lose a division game. Not a blowout, but the Jets defense is as tough as they come. Could be a long day for Brady. Call me stupid all you want, but I think it will be a Jets day. Jets 20, Patriots 17

4PM EST

(CBS) Raiders (2-3) at Chargers (2-4) - Division games are always tough. The Chargers had a tough loss against the Packers. The Raiders, well they are the opposite of their slogan most years, Just Win Baby, and I think they are about a year or two away from being playoff contenders. Chargers 27, Raiders 17

(FOX) Cowboys (2-3) at Giants (3-3) - In the opener, Dez Bryant went down against the Giants. Would be great if he could return and play them. The Giants lost a game to the Eagles where I thought they could have won. Dallas brought in Matt Cassell and is benching Brandon Weeden, who by the way, didn't play entirely bad the last few weeks. If they get Dez, and Matt doesn't play like a third string tetherball, Dallas will win. Dallas 27, Giants 13

8PM EST

(NBC) Eagles (3-3) at Panthers (5-0) - I fully expect the Panthers and that defense to keep the Eagles in check. Panthers 31, Eagles 13

Monday October 26th 830PM EST

(ESPN) Ravens (1-4) at Cardinals (4-2) - I'll be back in the desert for this. I am fully expecting the Cardinals to lay a giant beating on them. Cardinals 38, Ravens 16

Happy NFL Week 7

NFL Week 6

A 9-5 week last week. Had I not took a risk by picking the Raiders, who could have very well won that game, I would be 10-4. But still a winning record.

Thoughts from Week 5:

1. Aaron Rodgers finally looked human.
2. Tom Brady and the Patriots still look amazing.
3. The Seahawks, really missing an offensive line. No way the Seahawks of 2013 and 2014 lose that game like they did against the Bengals.
4. The Bengals. Killing it.
5. Another star player, Jamaal Charles, went down.
6. Cardinals still look good.
7.Browns won a tough game. Looked good doing it.
8. Dolphins have some problems they need to sort out.
9. Andrew Luck has missed two games in a row, and if he plays this week, gets a Patriots team that will throw the phone book at him.
10. The state of Florida has terrible NFL teams.
11. DeMarco Murray finally looked like an elite back. Although he has only run for just over 100 yards this season.
12, Dallas won't make the playoffs.
13. To be honest, the winner of the NFC East will have 9 wins at most.

Top 5: Lombardi Division

1. Patriots - They picked up right where they left off at the Super Bowl.
2. Packers - Still winning.
3. Bengals - Right now they look like the major challenger to the Patriots in the AFC.
4. Falcons - Hard to not move them up. They look good.
5. Panthers - Undefeated, coming off a bye week. Let's see if they are for real when they lay the Seahawks.

Bottom 5: The Participation Trophy Division

32. Lions - I always root for an 0-16 team. They are my only hope.
31. Jaguars - They are usually down here.
30. Dolphins - They have a lot of issues.
29. Texans - They need a legit NFL QB.
28. 49ers - I am not sure how they went from Super Bowl contender two years ago to bottom feeder, but here they are.

Coaches on the Hot Seat -

1. Bill O'Brien - Texans are underperforming
2. Jim Caldwell - 2-14 record will get him fired.
3. Mike Pettine - Win, sure. Make the playoffs or he's fired.
4. Sean Payton - I think he could go if the Saints continue their downward trend.
5. Chip Kelly - Blew up the team, not much to show for it. He needs to win and make the playoffs or he will be gone.

Bye Week Teams: Cowboys, Raiders, Rams, Buccaneers

Thursday October 15, 2015

8:25PM EST

(NFL/CBS) Falcons (5-0) at Saints (1-4) - The Falcons have found creative ways to win all season. Last week they came from behind to beat the Redskins. This week they should be able to jump on the Saints and pour on some points. That trade between the Seahawks and Saints kinda crippled both teams. Falcons have a good defense, look for about 5 sacks on Brees. Falcons 31, Saints 10

Sunday October 18, 2015

1PM EST

(FOX) Redskins (2-3) at Jets (3-1) - Jets have a good defense, fact is they are ranked 1st overall. The Redskins won't be able to do much against this defense if they can't establish the run. Without DeSean Jackson, they won't have much of a chance throwing it either. Jets need to get going on offense. The Redskins have a good rush defense, poor pass defense. If you have B. Marshall, probably a good idea to start him. Jets 24, Redskins 7

(FOX) Cardinals (4-1) at Steelers (3-2) - This is going to be a hard game for the Steelers. The Cardinals offense is as good as they come. And their defense, is pretty good too. The Steelers, minus Rothlesomething, are anemic. Mike Vick is not what he used to be. They need to try and capitalize on Cardinals turnovers and have a short field if they want to compete. Otherwise, Carson Palmer and the Cardinals will run all over them.  Cardinals 38, Steelers 13

(CBS) Chiefs (1-4) at Vikings (2-2) - With Jamaal Charles out, the Chiefs are going to have to rely on Alex Smith's arm. Which is good if you have Jeremy Maclin at receiver. Their defense is still good, but they get an Adrian Peterson who is returning to top form. the problem with the Chiefs is that they can't really hold a lead. They need to get ahead, and keep AP from running rampant. Won't happen. Vikings 24, Chiefs 20

(CBS) Bengals (5-0) at Bills (3-2) - The Bills defense, what was once thought to be their strong point, is not good. They are average at best. Bengals, what can I say. They are playing lights out. Plus, it's rumored Tyrod Taylor is out this week. Bengals could have the opportunity to really get a leg up in the AFC. Bengals 20, Bills 10

(FOX) Bears (2-3) at Lions (0-5) - The Lions have been in just about every game, and somehow, 0-5. They got screwed in Seattle. Sure. It happens. But they need to bounce back. Playoffs are out, so they need to hold it together and win. They should be able to get after Jay Cutler and squeak out a win. Lions 17, Bears 14

(CBS) Broncos (5-0) at Browns (2-3) - If the Browns want to be respectable, they need to win these games. Quality win last week, but the Broncos have a defense that can get to McCown. They will be without DeMarcus Ware this week, but the Broncos have a stingy defense that is carrying the team. Peyton Manning and the offense are doing just enough to win. The Broncos should win a close game. Broncos 23, Browns 17

(CBS) Texans (1-4) at Jaguars (1-4) - This is the worst game of the week. I mean, if you live in these markets, it's safe to say you can probably go outside and watch the grass grow. Only bright spot is that JJ Watts should have three or four sacks. Texans 24, Jaguars 21

(CBS) Dolphins (1-3) at Titans (1-3) - The Dolphins need this game. More than they ever needed a win, they need this. After the coach being fired, getting humiliated in London, a bye week, they need this game. Question is, can they stop Mariotta from having three TD's and running a Titans offense that isn't half bad. Yeah, they can. Will be a close one. Dolphins 27, Titans 24

4:05PM EST

(FOX) Panthers (4-0) at Seahawks (2-3) - Here's the problem with the Seahawks. they don't have an offensive line. Wilson has been sacked a league high 22 times. He is on pace to be sacked 80 times this season. Sure, their defense can play, but after last week, they too look human. They need to get back to what they do best, punishing teams for thinking they can play. They look like the Seahawks of old, terrible on the road. Will they win at home? Possibly. It will be close. I think they lose, at home. Panthers 16, Seahawks 13

(CBS) Chargers (2-3) at Packers (5-0) - Aaron Rodgers is going to be out there trying to make up for all of his turnovers last week. You will see a 4TD game from him. Sorry, Chargers. Packers 35, Chargers 10

(CBS) Ravens (1-4) at 49ers (1-4) - Super Bowl Rematch from three years ago. Both teams are bad. 49ers really bad. Since that Super Bowl they have been on a downward spiral. Ravens should have an easy time beating them. Ravens 34, 49ers 13

8:30PM EST

(NBC) Patriots (4-0) at Colts (3-2) - I don't know, we will probably see another 45-14 game. This started the whole Deflatemess earlier this year. You don't think Brady and coach haven't circled this date. Take the over, if you're a bettor. Patriots 49, Colts 10

Monday October 19, 2015

(ESPN) Giants (3-2) at Eagles (2-3) - Giants have turned it around. Eagles haven't. they haven't played a complete game. They need to have a game where both the running and passing game are in sync. Giants have quietly pulled it together. They could be 5-0, but back to back losses to start the season and here they are. I think it will be a close Monday night game. Giants 30, Eagles 27

Happy NFL Week 6

NFL Week 5

A pedestrian record, 9-6, but could have been 11-4 had the Eagles and the Raiders won games they should have easily won.

Thoughts from Week 4:

1. Falcons, insane. Although Julio Jones didn't get loose, that team looked amazing against the Texans.
2. Dallas seems to hang in there, then they find a way to lose. That's the difference between 4-0 and them being 2-2 currently.
3. Panthers and Falcons, when they do play, should be a great game.
4. Eagles, you look terrible.
5. 49ers, so do you.
6. Seahawks got away with a win. That could have easily gone the other way and dropped them to 1-3. They got the break they needed. Didn't expect that to be a close game, but then again maybe they aren't as great as they have been in previous years.
7. Cardinals, should've won. You let that game slip by.
8. Bengals, killing it. We will know if you are for real when you play the Seahawks.
9. Browns are in a familiar spot.
10. Patriots should drop a ton of points on Dallas.
11. Bills are confusing. Keep playing down to the competition. Defense is getting tore up.
12. I wouldn't be surprised if the Raiders win against the offense-less Broncos.
13. Early season bye weeks are the worst. I feel bad for teams with bye weeks before week 8.

Top 5: Lombardi Division

1. Patriots - Although I think the Packers could be up here as well.
2. Packers - Aaron Rodgers looks really great right now.
3. Bengals - They are really good.
4. Cardinals - Sure, they lost. But they are still good.
5. Falcons - Undefeated, and they look good on both sides of the ball.

Bottom 5: The Participation Ribbon Division

32. Lions - Still haven't won. So they are here.
31. 49ers - So bad. So. So. Bad.
30. Bears - Won, but still bad.
29. Eagles - Defense is terrible, offense is just mediocre.
28. Browns - They are usually down here. Thought this year would be different.

Coaches on the Hot Seat:

1. Joe Philbin - Already fired. He was on top of the list I put together last week.
2. Mike Pettine - Browns don't have a winning record, he cold be a bye week or post season casualty.
3. Bill O'Brien - Texans were bad last year, same this year. He could get the axe after only two seasons.
4. Jim Caldwell - After the playoff exit and the slow start this season, if they don't win, he could be a bye week casualty as well.
5. Jeff Fischer - If the Rams don't at least make the playoffs, I can see him losing his job as well.

Bye Week Teams: Dolphins, Jets, Vikings, Panthers

The Ingersoll Pick of the Week:

Atlanta Falcons - The Redskins won't be able to stop that offense.

Thursday October 8th, 8:30PM EST

(CBS/NFL) Colts (2-2)  at Texans (1-3) - Andrew Luck returns to face a team he has pretty much owned since he entered the league. The Texans, what I thought was a great defense, is terrible. The team is not well built. Outside of commercials, I haven't heard much about J.J. Watt. The Texans need to play better, or their coach is toast. Colts 27, Texans 9

Sunday October 11th, 1:00PM EST

(FOX) Bears (1-3) at Chiefs (1-3) - The Bears are fortunate to have come back and won against the Raiders. The Chiefs have been in most of their games this season and one bad bounce here or there, and they are 1-3. Blitz Cutler early and often to get him out of rhythm and he will throw a lot of interceptions. Chiefs 31, Bears 17

(FOX) Seahawks (2-2) at Bengals (4-0) - This is an intriguing matchup. The Seahawks can show they are back to their dominant form by beating a team that looks like it can possibly challenge New England for the AFC. The Bengals can make a statement by beating the Seahawks. The Seahawks, have not been good on the road, and got away with a win on Monday night. The Bengals won't let Wilson run all over them. Bengals 21, Seahawks 10

(FOX) Redskins (2-2) at Falcons (4-0)  - Already said the Falcons are a sure bet this week. Falcons 38, Redskins 17

Coinflip Game of the Week
Buccaneers (heads) Jaguars (tails)

(CBS) Jaguars (1-3) at Buccaneers (1-3) - This is like a a battle for who is the crappiest team in Florida. Should get Miami in a three way battle and see who wins. Winston needs to not have another turnover fiesta like last week Going to the coin. Tails it is. Jaguars 20, Buccaneers 17 (OT)

(FOX) Saints (1-3) at Eagles (1-3) - I think Drew Brees is going to put the Eagles in a big hole. The Saints can drop some points on this Eagles team that should be a lot better than they are. Saints 27, Eagles 21

(CBS) Browns (1-3) at Ravens (1-3) - This could be the start of the Ravens turning it around. After three tough games, they finally got a win and should be able to put the Browns down. Ravens 34, Browns 20

(FOX) Rams (2-2) at Packers (4-0) - Rodgers is good at home. The Rams are on one of those "every other week we will be good" type kicks. The Packers can score in bunches. If that pass rush of the Rams doesn't get to Rodgers, it's going to be a long day. Packers 28, Rams 13

(CBS) Bills (2-2) at Titans (1-2)  - Fresh off the Bye-Week the Titans should be well rested. they get a Bills team that played like crap against the Giants. The Bills can't lose two in a row, or they are going to get further behind the Patriots. I expect Ryan to have a gameplan for Mariota. Bills 20, Titans 10

4:05PM EST

(FOX) Cardinals (3-1) at Lions (0-4) - Lions, if they lose this game, there will be a lot of heads rolling in Detroit. Sure they were robbed last week. but if there were ever a "must win" game, this is it for them. Unfortunately, they get a Cardinals team that can score. I see them putting the clamps on the Lions. Cardinals 24, Lions 17

(CBS) Patriots (3-0) at Cowboys (2-2) - I certainly see this being a one sided beat down. Patriots 34, Cowboys 13

(CBS) Broncos (4-0) at Raiders (2-2) - As I said before, I can see the Raiders winning. they will get a couple of sacks/three and outs against the Broncos, and if Carr can keep from turning the ball over, they can walk away with a win. Raiders 24, Broncos 20

8:25PM EST

(NBC) 49ers (1-3) at Giants (2-2) - Good news is, the 49ers are as bad as advertised. Bad news is, Eli Manning can throw the ball every where and no one on the 49ers can stop him. Hopefully all of his points go to Beckham. Giants 35, 49ers 13

Monday October 12th, 8:30PM EST

(ESPN) Steelers (2-2) at Chargers (2-2) - With Vick at QB, I think they can rebound from last weeks loss and put some points on the Chargers. It will be somewhat of a shootout. The Chargers have a capable offense, and the Steelers defense isn't "Terrible Towel" worthy right now. Steelers should win by a field goal. Steelers 23, Chargers 20

Happy NFL Week 5!

NFL Week 4 - Start of the Bye Weeks

NFL Week 4 is here. By the end of Monday night, the season will be 1/4th of the way complete. After having a terrible week 2, I rebounded in week 3 to go 13-3. Bye weeks start this week, which sucks for teams that have a bye week in the first week.

Thoughts from Week 3:

1. Is anyone going to be able to stop Julio Jones? Might we see the first 2,000 receiving yard season ever?
2. On that note, can anyone stop Aaron Rodgers from just being insanely good? Doesn't matter who his receivers are, he just finds a way to be awesome.
3. Look, as far as I'm concerned, passes that bounce off of someone's hands and is an interception, really shouldn't be counted against the QB. With that said, Mariotta has 8 td's and 1 interception this year. Kid is pretty good.
4. Adrian Peterson looked like old AP on Sunday.
5. Can we all take a minute to look at Brandon Weeden and realize he didn't cost Dallas the game? Sure he had one interception, but 22 of 26, is pretty good. the Defense is what cost Dallas on Sunday.
6. Tom Brady, all he does is win. Poor Jaguars on the receiving end of that beatdown.
7. Glad to see the Chiefs finally threw a touchdown to a receiver. Thankfully it was to Maclin who helped me win my fantasy football game this week.
8. We should be looking closer at that Oakland team, they are playing really good football right now.
9. Arizona looks amazing. Two back to back blowouts. Carson Palmer playing out of his mind. They have the look of a team that can go deep into the playoffs.
10. How bad does Chicago look? Yowza.
11. Ravens 0-3 for the first time ever.
12. A week after the Jets look good, they look like crap against the then winless Eagles.
13. Our first quarterback controversy could be brewing, in Cleveland no less.
14. Lot of star players going down in the first three weeks.

Top 5: Lombardi Division (unchanged)

1. Patriots - They are still the reigning champs, and they beat down the lowly Jaguars.
2. Packers - They are pushing for that top spot. I mean, Rodgers looks really good right now.
3. Cardinals - Carson Palmer + that defense = Winning formula.
4. Bengals - Dalton looks really good right now.
5. Falcons - Found a way to win, and look good in the process.

Bottom 5: The Participation Ribbon Division

32. Bears - Unbearably bad.
31. Saints - Might they be 0-4. There's a good chance of that being the case.
30. Lions - So bad.
29. Ravens - Certainly aren't as bad as their record indicates.
28. Buccaneers - Yeah, they belong down here.

The Ingersoll Pick of the Week

Team guaranteed to win this week:

Carolina Panthers - A combination of defense, and Cam Newton should propel them to victory over the Buccaneers, who by the way have shown improvement, but not enough to win this game.

Next week: Coaches on the hot seat

Bye Week Teams: Tennessee Titans and New England Patriots

Thursday October 1st

8:25PM EST

(NFL/CBS) Ravens (0-3) at Steelers (2-1) - The Ravens have played tough teams and lost. The Steelers have Vick at QB this week, and to be honest, it's like downside of Career Vick. Sure he has some weapons at his disposal. Probably more weapons than he's ever had. But to be honest, Vick has always been a better runner than a QB. He has to think pass first, run last. Ravens have to start fast. I mean, if they fall behind, they are going to lose and be 0-4 and then there will be rumors about jobs being lost. Sadly, they will lose a close one. Steelers 20, Ravens 16

Sunday October 4th

1PM EST

(CBS) Jets (2-1) at Dolphins (1-2) - I really don't know what to make of this Dolphins team. Are they Participation Trophy bad? Possibly. Jets either. Two wins over quality opponents, and then made to look like bumbling idiots by the Eagles. It's in Miami. Fitzpatrick is still Fitzpatrick. If the defense plays like they should, they should be able to shut down that Miami offense with the greatest of ease. Miami has to minimize the turnovers if they want to come away with a victory. I don't see a TD battle. More like a yawnfest. Jets 17, Dolphins 13

(CBS) Jaguars (1-2) at Colts (1-2) - Colts have an insane record against the AFC South with Luck at QB. I don't see that changing. I think this week, we could see a 4TD pass game from Luck. Colts 41, Jaguars 10

(FOX) Giants (1-2) at Bills (2-1) - Gonna be honest here...the Giants got away with a W last week, and it could have been a disaster. The Bills beat Miami down. Just down. And Tyrod Taylor is turning out to be one of the best decisions Rex Ryan has made in a long time. Kid is actually good. Bills defense should be able to get 3 turnovers out of this Giants team. I don't see it being a good game for Eli. Bills 31, Giants 13

(FOX) Panthers (3-0) at Buccaneers (1-2) - Already picked the Panthers as a sure bet this week. Plus they got Jared Allen to help that defense with Kuechly. Panthers aren't a Super Bowl contender with the likes of the Packers, Seahawks, and Cardinals, but they should be a wild card team at best. Panthers 27, Buccaneers 9

(FOX) Eagles (1-2) at Redskins (1-2) - Eagles looked good last week. Murray was no where to be seen, but their offense looked decent. Bradford, is he really an NFL starting QB. He doesn't play like it to be honest. The Redskins, just looked bad. Had a chance to punch the Giants in the face, and did not play up to the level their defense can. It won't be a high scoring game. Kirk Cousins remembered he's just a backup at best last week. Eagles 20, Redskins 14

(CBS) Raiders (2-1) at Bears (0-3) - Look the Bears are bad. They are what I thought the Raiders would be. Clausen looked stupid bad last week. Their defense has been traded away. Even Jay Cutler at QB can't really help how bad this team is right now. Lot of holes to fix. Raiders, well they have been playing pretty good all season. They can get to 3-1 and totally will. Raiders 24, Bears 7

(CBS) Texans (1-2) at Falcons (3-0) - Right now, Julio Jones is in the NFL MVP conversation. Won't win, but he's in the conversation. The FALCONS have been playing great. Their defense gives up a lot of points, but the offense scores just enough to win. Texans, well. I think that coach is on the hot seat. Two years of ineptitude. These are must win games for him. They won't win. So many problems with the team. Starting with the offense. Falcons 27, Texans 13

(CBS) Chiefs (1-2) at Bengals (3-0) - If the Bengals want to be considered "elite" these are games they have to win. Their offense has to keep pressing the gas pedal, and their defense have to get some 3 and outs. The Chiefs have a short week, after getting beat up on Monday night by the Packers. Offense finally came to life, but they are going to play a Bengals team that has a good defense and weapons all over the field. Bengals 34, Chiefs 20

4:05PM EST

(CBS) Browns (1-2) at Chargers (1-2) - I think this is the game where if McCown doesn't play well, he's yanked by the 2nd quarter. The Chargers are one of those teams that play good in spurts, and this is a game where they can jump on the Browns and keep scoring after a few turnovers. Chargers should get a much needed W. Chargers 27, Browns 17

(FOX) Packers (3-0) at 49ers (1-2)- After that beating in the Desert last week, the 49ers are reeling. I mean to be honest, this is how I saw their season going after all of the departures and retirements. The 49ers are a 6-10 team at best and their QB needs to stop turning the ball over. Not 1, but 2 pick sixes last week. Packers should drop another 40 spot on them this week, especially since Rodgers holds a grudge against the 49ers for not drafting the Bay Area kid. Packers 42, 49ers 13

(FOX) Rams (1-2) at Cardinals (3-0) - Big game for the Cardinals. Division game, a chance to get a big lead in the NFC West. They can put away the hapless Rams. I fully expect the Cardinals to drop 35 on them, with the greatest of ease. Cardinals 38, Rams 17

(FOX) Vikings (2-1) vs Broncos (3-0) - Boy the Broncos have been flirting with disaster. They have an offense that is ranked pretty low. But a defense that is ranked top ten. That is balance, but not the balance they want. They need to find some offense, and fast. The Vikings can score some points, and they have AP. I don't think it's enough to beat the Broncos at home though. Broncos 24, Vikings 17

8:25PM EST

(NBC) Cowboys (2-1) at Saints (0-3) - Had the defense held up, the Cowboys could be 3-0. This is a game they have to win if they want to keep a hold on the division long enough for Romo and Bryant to return. If they lose to a terrible, lowly Saints team, they are going to be in serious trouble. Stick to the run, and let the defense hold. Cowboys 31, Saints 13

Monday October 5th

8:30PM EST

(ESPN) Lions (0-3) at Seahawks (1-2) - For the second straight week, the Seahawks get a crap NFC North team in which to beateth on. And beateth they shall. I can see another shutout. The Lions have so many questions and few answers. Seahawks can get back to .500 and back on track. Seahawks 37, Lions 6

NFL Week 3

Week 3 Is here. After going 6-10 last week (some games should have been easy wins for teams), I'm disappointed in not only them, but myself. Thankfully no one pays me for this and I just do it for fun.

Thoughts from Week 2:

1. Colts. Really? I know you started out 0-2 last year and made the playoffs, but...really? You look absolutely horrible.
2. Seahawks, you guys are not the same without Kam Chancellor. Looks like this game of chicken needs to end.
3. Saints. When you traded Jimmy Graham, did you forget how to play football?
4. Rams, you're dead to me. How dare you lose a game you should have easily won. Maybe you were on high because you beat the defending NFC champs. Either way, you should've built on that momentum.
5. DeMarco Murray.
I feel by adding the "grass isn't always greener on the other side," might be too harsh. (It's funny because he went to a team with green uniforms).
6. Please don't crown Johnny Manziel just yet. One week doth not maketh an NFL QB.
7. Poor Dallas. No star receiver. Fine. They can get by without him. No QB, but a journeyman backup 62 year old Brandon Weeden? Hopefully you guys can go at least 2-4 while Romo is out.
8. Is it just me or are there a lot of QB's potentially missing time? Romo, Brees, Cutler.
9. Jets. You guys look pretty damn good.
10. Less talking, more football playing, Bills.
11. Cardinals and Carson Palmer look good.
12. Bears, by all accounts, should fall to 0-3 on Sunday when they play the Seahawks. The Eagles could very well be in that group too. They play the Jets on Sunday.  Ravens, too. Lions as well. Lot of teams with big aspirations could be 0-3.
13. Stop. Taunting. Tom. Brady. He makes you pay errrrytime.

Top 5: The Lombardi Division

1. Patriots - Here until they lose. Almost was Sunday. That defense needs to tighten up.
2. Packers - They look Super. Still my pick to win it all.
3. Cardinals - Carson Palmer has them on top of the division and they could be there a while, at least until they play Seattle.
4. Bengals - They look good. Through two games. No Sacks. No Turnovers for ol A. Dalton.
5. Falcons - Somehow grinding out wins. Julio Jones is on another level right now.

Bottom 5: The Participation Ribbon Division

32. Saints - More like the 'Aints am I right. They look bad. Like, top 10 pick bad.
31. Bears - Might want to consider drafting a QB.
30. Eagles - All that money for Murray and a trade for Bradford, and it's not working out the way they hoped. Bradford looks scared. That offensive line sucks.
29. Lions - Just need a Tigers team here to complete the trifecta.
28. Texans - They have so many questions with far less answers.

The Ingersoll Pick of the Week

Well last weeks pick didn't work out too well. Hopefully this one does.

Seattle Seahawks - At home, against a Cutlerless Bears team. They will get a W this week.

Thursday September 24th

8:25PM EST

(CBS) Redskins (1-1) at Giants (0-2) - This is a make or break game for the Giants. They have lost two close games and are 5 points away from being in an entirely different conversation, 2-0. Be that as it may, they have a Washington team coming in that can run the ball well, but not pass. Giants need to stop the run, so they can jailbreak into the win column. Giants 21, Redskins 17

Sunday September 27th

1PM EST

(FOX) Falcons (2-0) at Cowboys (2-0) - Falcons have looked really good under their new coach. They have an offense that is good and a defense that does just enough to stop teams. Dallas on the other hand. Had a good offense and now with Bryant and Romo out, they are just a ragtag bunch. These are the games they have to win in order to stay afloat while Romo is out. Can they? Time will tell. It's a squeaker. Falcons 24, Cowboys 21

(CBS) Colts (0-2) at Titans (1-1) - Remember the Titans from week 1? How they destroyed the Buccaneers. Remember the Colts and how bad they looked in Week 1 and 2? The Colts just can't stop turning the ball over. They look as bad as their record indicates. Mariotta, still no turnovers. A loss, but no turnovers. I think they can steal one from a hungry Colts team, but Andrew Luck's neckbeard will steer them toward a win. Colts 28, Titans 17

(CBS) Raiders (1-1) at Browns (1-1) - Look, Manziel played decent last week. But that's one week. Consistency is the word I'm sure they throw around a lot in Cleveland. Build on it. Attack a Raiders team that is always up and down. Can the Browns win two in a row? Who knows. Not even sure who is playing QB this week. Also kudos to the Raiders for beating a tough Ravens team. I think the Browns win a close one. Browns 17, Raiders 14

(CBS) Bengals (2-0) at Ravens (0-2) -  Look, the Ravens is another team that could be 2-0. But their defense without Suggs is not the same. Their offense doesn't look in sync either. They are getting a Bengals team that has played rather well. If the Ravens get behind, they won't win. The Bengals are playing really well. Bengals 20, Ravens 10

(CBS) Jaguars (1-1) at Patriots (2-0)  - Gonna make this short. Patriots 27, Jaguars 10

(FOX) Saints (0-2) at Panthers (2-0) - Oh when the Saints, go marching in, oh when the Saints go Marching in. They lose. They look like a team that hasn't figured it out. Offensive line is terrible. Defense too. They get the Panthers and they are going to try and get a foot up in the division and keep pace with the Dirty Birds. Panthers 31, Saints 17

(FOX) Eagles (0-2) at Jets (2-0) - I almost feel bad for the Eagles. hahaha, loljk. I don't. Still. They traded some key assets, let some guys walk, and they aren't good. They look bad. Bradford looks like he is a deer in the headlights. Murray can't get out of the backfield. Jets are going to throw the house at them this week. Their defense has 10 takeaways and Revis looks like the Defensive Player of the year, right now. They can smother the Eagles, but Fitzpatrick needs to keep his turnovers low. Jets 17, Eagles 7

(FOX) Buccaneers (1-1) at Texans (0-2) - Winston, meet Watts. I say this because I don't think the Texans are going to go down without Watts losing his mind. He is going to be all over the field. The Buccaneers beat a Saints team that is just bad. The Texans have no identity on offense. Texans win a close one. Texans 13, Buccaneers 10

(CBS) Chargers (1-1) at Vikings (1-1) - Peterson was back to his dominant self, but still had a couple of fumbles. The Chargers need to stop having turnovers, but to be fair, they lost to a Bengals team that is quietly good. If they let Peterson get going, they are going to have a tough time. Minnesota's defense is not that bad. Chargers 23, Vikings 17

(CBS) Steelers (1-1) at Rams (1-1) - I don't get how the Rams look fantastic one week, and play like dogshit the next. I mean, the way they played the Seahawks and won versus how they played the Redskins and lost. The big problem in sports is this: Teams play up or down to their competition. Granted the Rams might not be good, but for one week, they looked great and then played an inferior opponent and lost. The Steelers, well they lost to the Patriots in Week 1, and air raided the 49ers the next. That team can score, I would be worried if I were the Rams. Steelers 38, Rams 21

4:05PM EST

(FOX) 49ers (1-1) at Cardinals (2-0) - Any one else think Carson Palmer is out to prove something? I mean, look at his two games. He is dominating defenses. Now he gets a 49ers team that got burned up by the Steelers. Sure, they are going to try and prove that last week was a fluke, but the Cardinals beat up the Bears by nearly the same margin. 49ers seem like a team that will be 7-9 or 8-8.  For now, they need to figure out their defense, or they are going to have a long season. NFC West games for the last few years, are tough. This one will be close. Cardinals 17, 49ers 13

(CBS) Bills (1-1) at Dolphins (1-1) - Here's the deal about the Bills. If they are the second half team they were last week against the Patriots, they can win 10 games. If they are the first half team they were last week against the Patriots, they will win 6. They need to score early and let their defense win games. The Dolphins, same thing. They have the capability to score points, but they play down to their competition and turnovers will kill them every time. Neither team have the type of QB who can put a team on their shoulders and will them to a win. So they need to play smart. Turnovers cost both teams last week. Bills 27, Dolphins 17

Return of the Kam....

(CBS) Bears (0-2) at Seahawks (0-2) - Look, the Seahawks are way better than their record. The Bears are right where they should be. Their defense is weak. Their offense is weaker without Jay Cutler. Look for the Seahawks to blitz the hell out of Clausen and cause at least 3 turnovers. If you have the Seahawks defense in fantasy football, great because they will score a defense/special teams TD. Oh and as of 9:58a.m. EST, Kam Chancellor is coming back.  Seahawks 41, Bears 13

8:30PM EST

(NBC) Broncos (2-0) at Lions (0-2) - The Broncos have flirted with disaster all season. It's their defense, surprisingly, that is keeping them in games. I love Peyton, but he's not the dominant Peyton we are used to seeing. Stafford hasn't had a great season so far. Can they turn it around? Sure. But they have to get in the Win column and it's going to be tough against the Broncos, especially the way their defense is playing. If Stafford can get them on the board and into a shootout, they might have a chance. I don't see it happening with the way the Broncos defense is playing. Broncos 27, Lions 20

Monday September 28

8:30PM EST

(ESPN) Chiefs (1-1) at Packers (2-0) - Packers are still the team to beat right now. Defense is playing good. Offense is playing next man up style. Player goes down, next man comes in and does a pretty good job. Oh that Rodgers guy, he has like 580 attempts at home without a turnover. 13 incompletions so far this season. That's like a quarter for some teams. The Chiefs need to stop them on third down. Once Rodgers gets going, he's hard to stop. He just wills the Packers to be better. Packers are golden at home. Packers 31, Chiefs 20.

NFL WEEK 2

With week 1 in the books, let's do a quick recap of some of the events from the week.

Observations:

1. The stupid Giants had a win, blew it.
2. The Eagles were set to soar, and well, they ran into a defense that was like NOPE. Also DeMarco Murray...

3. That Seahawks/Rams game was pretty good. That defense that the Rams have, plus an offense that can score, the Rams might not be terrible this season.
4. Marcus. Mariotta. 13 of 16, perfect passer rating, 4 td's made the Bucs his bitch. Kid might be pretty good or something. It will get harder for him as the season progresses, but for one day, he looked like a potential hall of famer.

5. Lot of good players went down. I know it cost some people some fantasy football games.
6. Dallas has two division games to start the season, if they can weather those, they should be a-okay.
7. Jay Cutler is in full late season terrible form.
8. Carson Palmer looked great.
9. Peyton Manning, did not. Neither did Adrian Peterson.
10. I almost feel bad for the Raiders.
11. Almost have to apologize to the 49ers. They don't seem as bad as I thought they would.
12. The Bills. That defense. Their offense might actually be better than half bad.

Top 5 - The Lombardi Division

1. New England Patriots
2. Green Bay Packers
3. Arizona Cardinals
4. Cincinnati Bengals
5. Buffalo Bills

Bottom 5 - The Participation Ribbon Division

32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
31. Jacksonville Jaguars
30. Oakland Raiders
29. Cleveland Browns
28. Washington Redskins

The Ingersoll Pick of the Week:

I'm in a survivor league, so I am introducing the Ingersoll pick of the week. This is who I believe, above all others, will definitely win their game this week.

St. Louis Rams - They have a good defense that should smother the Redskins. They also have an offense that put up some points on one of the best defenses around. Look for them to go into Washington and drop 31 on them.

Thursday September 17, 2015

8:25PM EST

(CBS/NFL) Broncos (1-0) vs Chiefs (1-0)  - Broncos looked like garbage last week. Seriously. That's not the Peyton Manning I know.Their defense, however, held up nicely and did some work. That's what one them the game. Chiefs looked good on both sides of the ball. I was suprised they jumped on the Texans. Their problem, which nearly cost them the game, being unable to score in the second half. They better fix that. Broncos 24, Chiefs 20

Sunday September 20, 2015

1:00PM EST

(CBS) Texans (0-1) vs Panthers (1-0) - I don't know why I'm so surprised that a stacked Texans defense gave up a ton of points to a Chiefs team that isn't all that great. Now they get Cam Newton. So many questions at QB for the Texans. Cam won't run free, and we will definitely see a better Texans team. JJ Watts is going to go bananas. Texans 24, Panthers 13

(FOX) 49ers (1-0) vs Steelers (0-1) -  A couple of bounces here and there and the Steelers could have a win. 49ers, looked pretty great. I am shocked about that. Especially after all of the offseason losses they suffered. By the way, the Steelers defense, looks porous. They are going to have a long season if they can't find a way not to let teams throw the ball all over them. Steelers 17, 49ers 10

(FOX) Buccaneers (0-1) vs Saints (0-1) - Buccaneers are normal. Always looking up at the other teams in the division. Sure, Winston didn't look half bad and I have to remember that he's a rookie, but the team itself gave up 42 points to a team that probably shouldn't have scored 42 points. It can only go up from there. Saints, played decent considering they traded their biggest weapon to a team stacked full of weapons. I can't see the Saints losing. Saints 31, Bucs 17

(FOX) Lions (0-1) vs Vikings (0-1) - Thought that Adrian Peterson would do better than 31 yards, but nope. Thought the Lions would sustain a lead, but nope. Two defenses that need to step up. The Lions have a much better offense and should put up some points. Lions 28, Vikings 20

(FOX) Cardinals (1-0) vs Bears (0-1) - Jay Cutler. That's all I have to say about the Bears. I wonder if his teammates want to secretly whoop his ass. He is just like terrible. Carson Palmer, away because of a torn ACL, comes back and delivers 3 TD's, already looking like midseason form. Let's face it, Jay Cutler is stupid. Cardinals should make the Bears 0-2. Cardinals 24, Bears 14

Matchup of the WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK

(CBS) Patriots (1-0) vs Bills (1-0) - It's the Patriots. They always look good. Brady (totally nailed his TD total last week) won't have as easy a time throwing the ball against this defense. The Bills Defense, looks good. They have some Pro Bowlers there and they should give Brady a bit of a time. If their offense can put up some points, look for the Bills to win. Bills 27, Patriots 17

(CBS) Chargers (1-0) vs Bengals (1-0) - I can never tell with either of these teams. They are almost identically built. Decent defense. Two QB's who seemingly are always one season away from being backups. RB's who I really don't know. Somehow at the end of every season, they are there. In the postseason. Maybe one of them will get it together this season. Bengals 21, Chargers 13

(CBS) Titans (1-0) vs Browns (0-1) - Let's be honest. Manziel is a mess. His play is erratic. Can't hang on to the football. He is more hype than hope. I don't imagine that he will be a starter. Titans on the other hand. That Mariotta kid, d-d-d-d-amn. I mean. He had more TD's than incompletions. Sorry Browns, I don't see you winning this game unless Manziel pulls his head out of his butt. Titans 27, Browns 10

(FOX) Falcons (1-0) vs Giants (0-1) - Giants are a mess though. Blame game. Collapses. JPP not playing and fingers missing. A fourth losing season without making the playoffs, expect Coughlin to be gone. For now, they have a problem. A team that shut down a high powered offense. A team with a weapon like Julio Jones and the Giants don't have anyone to cover him. Yowza. Falcons 31, Giants 20

4:05PM EST

(FOX) Rams (1-0) vs Redskins (0-1) - Already gave the nod to the Rams. They should march in there and make the Redskins wish they changed their name. Rams 35, Redskins 7

Battle for Florida

(CBS) Dolphins (1-0) vs Jaguars (0-1) - I don't think the Jaguars will ever be good. I mean, they looked decent last week. But for now, they are stuck in NFL Purgatory. Dolphins look decent. Is Tannehill a legit starter? Hard to tell at times. They still need to upgrade their weapons around him. They should be enough to knock the Jaguars down past the cellar. Dolphins 28, Jaguars 13

(CBS) Ravens (0-1) vs Raiders (1-0) - Raiders have occupied the cellar of the NFL so long that it's hard to beat them down verbally. Ravens should've beat the Broncos. Lost Suggs for the year. They should still beat a Raiders team that is without Derek Carr. Ravens 17, Raiders 7

(FOX) Cowboys (1-0) vs Eagles (0-1) - So many things here. The Cowboys are going to be without Dez Bryant for the next 6-8 weeks. The Eagles got DeMarco Murray and Sam Bradford, neither of which looked good last week. The Eagles should put up some points. I hate to say it, but I think they will win. Hope they lose though. Eagles 27, Cowboys 20

8:30PM EST

(NBC) Seahawks (0-1) vs Packers (1-0) - I can't imagine the Seahawks starting 0-2. Yet they are going to Lambeau to face a Packers team with a defense that can stuff the Seahawks. The Seahawks, gots weapons for days. I just didn't expect them to lose to the Rams. is Kam Chancellor being out a bigger deal than the Seahawks are letting on? I know they will calm down and have a better season. For now, though need to get it together. Packers 24, Seahawks 17

Monday September 21st

8:30PM EST

(ESPN) Jets (1-0) vs Colts (0-1) - I mean, the Jets. They always start out decent and then fade. I don't fully expect them to be good. Improved, yes. Good. no. Not saying much. Colts, shocking they got beat down by the Bills. But that won't be so bad if the Bills are good and fighting for a playoff spot. Colts need to get that offense going. Andrew Luck needs to have four TD's this week. Colts 31, Jets 17
